Boro's Best 2022
The Foundation held a luncheon on May 26th, 2022 at the Memorial Middle School Media Center to recognize this year’s Boro’s Best honorees. The Boro Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Adam Angelozzi, kicked off the event welcoming all the attendees, followed by remarks from Katie Blessing, the Foundation President. The Foundation recognized 10 senior students with $1,000 Leadership grants -- Sophia Addice, Kalena Bing, James Cook, Josh Cotta, Lorri Gillow, Sean Haugh, Heather Kimak, Scott Miller, Chris Nunez and Olivia Valente.
Nine staff members were acknowledged by the Foundation with Yeti coffee mugs -- Jennifer Murphy (Nellie Bennett), Erin Hoffman (Ocean Road), William Fall (Memorial), and Jennifer Kasyan (High School) as Ocean County Teachers of the Year; Erin Daly (Nellie Bennett), Valerie Domas (Ocean Road), Jean Marie Solinski (Memorial), and Paige Grainer (High School) as Teachers of Special Recognition; and Kathleen O’Gorman (High School) as Educational Support Professional of the Year. The Foundation also presented four $2,500 grants to an individual or a group of teachers who submitted requests for funding for special programs/projects in their schools that are outside of the usual District funding stream. Recipients were Erin Nagle, Jill Vitale and Jennifer Malpass (Ocean Road), Debby DellaMonica (Nellie Bennett), Lynn Thompson and Ellen Keelan (Memorial), and Denise LaPlaca and Ryan McMichael (High School). Congratulations to all the event's honorees!
