Boro's Best 2024
The Foundation held a luncheon on May 28th, 2024 at the Memorial Middle School Media Center to recognize this year’s Boro’s Best honorees. The Boro Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Adam Angelozzi, kicked off the event welcoming all the attendees, followed by remarks from Britt Stevens, one of the Foundation’s Co-Presidents. The Foundation recognized 10 senior students with $1,000 Leadership grants – Anna Bergen, Mary Cook, Brooke Gronau, Robyn Kajewski, Lindsey Ludwig, David Mammano, Matthew Michallis, Julia Thompson, Adelaide Videon-Perino, and MacKenzie Woit,
Nine staff members were acknowledged by the Foundation with coffee mugs -- Denise Laplaca {High School), Patricia Ryan Memorial Middle School, Petrice Pascucci (Nellie Bennett School and Christina Boyle (Ocean Road School) as Ocean County Teachers of the Year; Caitlyn Jensen (High School), William Pirl (Memorial Middle School), Bridget Cook (Nellie Bennett School, and Alison Soltis (Ocean Road School),Teachers of Special Recognition; and Courtney Tintle (Ocean Road School) as Educational Support Professional of the Year. The Foundation also presented five $2,500 grants to an individual or a group of teachers who submitted requests for funding for special programs/projects in their schools that are outside of the usual District funding stream. Recipients were Erin O’Connell (High School), Catie McNulty (High School), Amanda Marinaro (Memorial Middle School), Laura Runge (Nellie Bennett School) and Colleen DeSomma, Pamela Kendall, Dania Bober, Erin Daly & Anne Gearing Ocean Road School/Nellie Bennett School/High School).
